A sentence has been passed in the North Kazakhstan Region in a case involving the embezzlement of budget funds on an especially large scale by a group of persons in a preliminary conspiracy, using their official positions.
According to the press service of the department, three former employees of the akimat were in the dock. Despite irrefutable evidence, they denied their guilt and showed no remorse for their actions.
However, prosecutors proved that the accused had committed theft of property through deception and abuse of trust, causing damage to the state in the amount of more than 46 million tenge.
Ultimately, the Petropavlovsk City Court found the former akimat employees guilty and sentenced them to between 6.6 and 6.8 years of imprisonment, recovering from them the material damage caused. The sentence has entered into legal force.
Earlier, as previously reported, in the North Kazakhstan Region a sentence was passed against the head of the housing and communal services (HCS) department of the Taiynsha district. He was found guilty of embezzling 15.9 million tenge of budget funds.
It was reported that the head had fictitiously entered into a single-source public procurement contract with a businessman to purchase a modular pipeline device for ensuring heat supply to socially significant facilities in the city of Taiynsha.
