More than 26,000 hectares of land have been returned to state ownership in the Birzhan sal district of the Akmola region. The work was carried out as part of a project to identify and return unused plots.
WHAT IS KNOWN
According to the prosecutor's office of the Akmola region, the shortage of pastureland and arable land remains one of the most pressing problems in the Birzhan sal district.
In this regard, since 2025, the district prosecutor's office has been implementing the “Return of Unused Land” project, aimed at identifying and returning plots that were not used for their intended purpose.
HOW MUCH LAND WAS RETURNED TO THE STATE
In 2025, more than 23,000 hectares of agricultural land were returned to state ownership through acts of prosecutorial supervision.
This year, the work has been intensified. During the current period, more than 3,500 hectares of pastureland have been returned to the state. The value of this land exceeds 20 million tenge.
Thus, the total amount of returned land has exceeded 26,000 hectares.
WHICH PLOTS WERE SEIZED AND WHO RETURNED THEM VOLUNTARILY
Among the specific examples, the prosecutor's office cites the seizure of 1,412 hectares of land from Nan-Zher LLP.
In addition, Baimyrza-Agro LLP voluntarily returned 2,150 hectares of pastureland.
HOW THE RETURNED LAND WILL BE MANAGED
The prosecutor's office has directed local executive bodies to allocate the returned land to bona fide local residents and business entities.
It is reported that work in this area is continuing.
