23-year-old Nursultan Sisenbayev died when rock mass collapsed at the «Bolashak» mine of the Donskoy mining and processing plant in the Aktobe region. The young man was injured while installing a safety support. On 28 October he would have turned 24.
HOW THE TRAGEDY HAPPENED
According to the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN», the accident occurred at a depth of 480 metres. While a safety support was being installed, a piece of rubble stone collapsed and struck the drifter in the back. After the impact the miner fell.
The injured man was brought to the surface and handed over to ambulance medics. The man was taken to hospital, but he could not be saved.
The circumstances of the incident are being established. An investigation is under way into the miner's death.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE DECEASED
Nursultan Sisenbayev graduated from the Khromtau Mining and Technical Higher College. The young man's total work experience was more than four years.
The miner's public CV retained a short entry in the «Tell us about yourself» section:
«The main thing is to work with dignity».
The management of the enterprise expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased and reported that the necessary assistance would be provided to his relatives.

The «Bolashak» mine is part of the Donskoy mining and processing plant of the international group Eurasian Resources Group (ERG).
WHAT INCIDENTS HAVE PREVIOUSLY OCCURRED AT THE MINE
The death of Nursultan Sisenbayev was not the first fatal case at the «Bolashak» mine of the Donskoy mining and processing plant.
Earlier, in February 2025, during drilling operations at the mine, a brief ignition of the air environment occurred. Four miners received burns of varying severity. Later one of the injured died in hospital from multiple organ failure.
Law enforcement officers began a pre-trial investigation into the violation of safety rules during mining or construction work.
Later another incident occurred at the same mine. During the installation of equipment, a hydrogen release occurred, causing a fire. Three workers received burns to their faces and hands.
Two of the injured were in intensive care in a serious condition, the third was in the trauma department in a moderately serious condition.
