At the Sayak-3 mine in the Karaganda region, there was a carbon monoxide release. Two workers died, and several others were taken to hospital.

"All workers were promptly evacuated. The injured were taken to nearby medical facilities. Unfortunately, two workers have died", - reported the press service of Kazakhmys.
A special commission has been set up to investigate the circumstances and causes of the tragic incident. The corporation noted that the families of the deceased will receive the necessary support.
Meanwhile, the police department of the Karaganda region reported the initiation of a criminal case under Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Violation of safety rules during mining or construction work".
It should be recalled that several fatal accidents involving the deaths of miners have occurred recently.
In early September, it was reported that in the East Kazakhstan region at the Irtysh and Artemyevsk mines, owned by the copper mining company KAZ Minerals, 5 workers died.
On 18 September, in the Zhambyl region, at one of the mining and processing complexes of Altynalmas JSC, a worker was buried by rock.
Around the same time, in the Aktobe region, at the mine of the mining enterprise Aktobe Copper Company, a crusher operator died due to an ore collapse.
Literally the next day, it became known that at the Orlovsk mine in the Abay region, a worker died as a result of a rock mass collapse.
