Kazakhstani marketer Alimzhan Bisembayev has calculated that the mass introduction of the Aitu messenger in the public sector could cost the budget more than $1 billion per year due to mandatory compensation for employees’ use of personal smartphones.

In Kazakhstan, expenditure on image-building and officials' business trips will be reduced.

In the draft budget for 2026–2028, Kazakhstan will cut image-related expenditure by 68 billion tenge, completely abandoning funding for forums and reducing officials’ travel expenses. This was announced at a briefing in the Senate by Vice Minister of Finance Abzal Beisenbekuly.

Journalist Mikhail Kozachkov reported that the American publication NewsBreak published an article about alleged corruption at Tengizchevroil (TCO), an international consortium involved in oil extraction at the Tengiz field. Shortly after publication, the article was removed from the site.
