City Court No. 2 of Kyzylorda has sentenced a local resident for the illegal sale of petroleum products and money laundering.
According to Zakon.kz, in 2018 the defendant registered a limited liability partnership for the wholesale sale of petroleum products. She then began selling diesel fuel, but, as was discovered during the investigation, she sold it without documents.
“During the investigation, it was established that the suspect, from 2019 to 2023, purchased 2,422 tonnes of diesel fuel for a total of 574,728,811 tenge from 16 different companies. Of these, she sold 334 tonnes of diesel fuel, purchased without supporting documents, to 18 state institutions and three legal entities for a total of 262,151,055 tenge, which she subsequently legalised,” said Farkhad Kuzdeubayev, investigator for particularly important cases of the Department of Economic Investigations for the Kyzylorda Region.
The court found the suspect guilty and sentenced her to 5 years of suspended imprisonment.
Recall that in October, employees of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition (APDC) established that the company Petrosun LLP had abused its dominant position in the wholesale petroleum products market. The court deemed the department's findings justified and fined Petrosun LLP 875 million tenge.
