The Ministry of Energy has summarised the results of control in the oil and gas sector for the first nine months of 2025.

According to the agency, interregional departments of the state inspectorate in the Atyrau and Kyzylorda regions conducted 100 inspection activities.

These included 18 preventive controls with site visits, 30 unscheduled inspections, 15 checks on compliance with contractual terms, and 37 licensing inspections related to the provision of state services.

As a result of their work, inspectors issued 18 orders to remedy violations and imposed 80 administrative fines totalling 110 million tenge. In addition, the authorised bodies recovered damages for the inefficient use of oil and gas amounting to over 14 billion tenge.

The process of recovering a fine of nearly 4 million tenge and damages of 2.4 billion tenge is currently ongoing.

It will be recalled that in April, it was reported that the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan had imposed fines on the oil-producing companies Tengizchevroil, NCOC, Caspian Neft and MangistauMunaiGas totalling more than 61.1 billion tenge for violations of environmental legislation in 2022–2024.
