In Atyrau, as part of the "Improvement of 100 Yards" project, Antikor volunteers identified violations totalling more than 800 million tenge

According to Antikor for the Atyrau region, in the courtyard of the Almagul 1,3 microdistrict, the illegal signing of fictitious certificates of work completed to the value of 60 million tenge was uncovered. The contractor was supposed to install a playground, a sports area, replace the asphalt, and lay kerbs.

"In the Almagul 27-33 microdistrict in August, payment was made for the installation of kerbs, paving slabs, the construction of a football pitch, asphalt concrete surfacing of courtyard areas, footpaths and sites, children's and sports playgrounds, roll covering for these sites, and artificial turf for the football pitch. However, as you can see, the work was not carried out at all, yet payment was made. In the Almagul 7,8,9, 14,15,16 microdistrict, the situation is similar."

Furthermore, when developing the design and estimate documentation, the client specified benches, litter bins, and marble kerbs, the price of which per unit is 470 thousand tenge. However, the prosecutor's office issued a recommendation to replace these litter bins and benches with similar ones costing around 40-50 thousand tenge, that is, 10 times cheaper than those specified.

"The savings would have made it possible to provide housing for <...> people on the housing waiting list in the city of Atyrau, to increase the number of three-shift schools (by 10), and to reduce costs for or provide assistance to low-income residents (around 4,500). However, instead of saving these funds, the Akimat purchased 107 iron benches and installed them all in one place at Amanshina 72,74."

Also in these courtyards, volunteers discovered a carousel and swings without seats, and sandpits without sand.
