229 hectares of land have been returned to the recreational zone of Almaty

In Almaty, problematic issues of construction in the city's foothill zone were examined. At a meeting of the Anti-Corruption Public Council, it was reported how many hectares were returned from the city's residential zone to recreational use.

According to the Anti-Corruption press service, the event was attended by the Chairman of the Agency Askhat Zhumagali, the Akim of Almaty Erbolat Dosaev, representatives of the ministries of industry and construction, agriculture, water resources, ecology, healthcare, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and others.

At the meeting, speakers reported on the development and approval of a new general plan for Almaty, which included areas prone to natural emergencies.

"229 hectares of land have been returned from the residential zone to the recreational zone, a land plot containing an anthrax burial site has been transferred to state ownership, and an inventory of all water bodies has been carried out. Of the 54 illegal objects identified in the foothill zones, 36 court rulings have been made in favour of the state, 30 of which have entered into force, 2 illegal objects have already been demolished, and another 3 await demolition."

Furthermore, it was reported that several bills are under consideration in the Mazhilis of the Parliament, which take into account the Anti-Corruption Agency's recommendations on strengthening the management responsibility of the State Architectural and Construction Control (SACC) and granting the Ministry of Emergency Situations powers to coordinate urban planning projects, among other things.

At the conclusion of the meeting, responsible executives were given specific recommendations regarding the adoption of measures to complete the planned activities as quickly as possible.

It is worth recalling that earlier, the director of the public association "Adildik Zholy," Didar Smagulov, reported that the state had lost 23.3 billion tenge due to non-payment of the required difference in cadastral value when changing the designated purpose of land in Almaty.
