The Prosecutor's Office of the Baizak District of the Zhambyl Region has identified repeated violations in the activities of the district akimat's structural divisions during public procurement.

According to the prosecutor's press service, in April of this year, the district akimat's department of architecture, urban planning and construction illegally concluded a contract with a contractor for 125 million tenge under a 'single-source' procedure.

"In another case, during procurement, requirements were unreasonably set that restricted and complicated the participation of entrepreneurs, and also infringed on the rights of public associations of disabled people", the statement reads.

It is reported that as a result of the prosecutor's supervisory action, procurements totalling more than 335 million tenge were cancelled. Those responsible were held accountable.

"The measures taken are aimed at restoring fair competition among business entities", the department stated.
