Prosecutors in the North Kazakhstan Region (NKR) cancelled a number of public procurement contracts with violations, preventing unjustified budget expenditures totalling 225 million tenge. Inspections revealed issues in several districts of the region simultaneously.
WHAT VIOLATIONS WERE IDENTIFIED
According to the NKR prosecutor's office, violations were identified during an analysis of compliance with the norms of the Law "On Public Procurement". The supervisory authority reported instances of procurement being conducted with deviations from established rules, after which prosecutor's protests were lodged.
In the Zhambyl District, officials from the district department of economy and finance carried out procurements worth 213.8 million tenge for the medium repair of the street network. It is specified that the customer lacked title documents for the relevant plots, which contradicts the requirements of the Law.
In the Taiynsha District, the education department organised procurement of services for medical examinations of teachers totalling 13 million tenge. The list included services and examinations not stipulated by the requirements of the Ministry of Health.
OVERALL RESULT OF THE INSPECTIONS
In total, since the beginning of this year, regional prosecutors have cancelled 17 procurement procedures in the sphere of public procurement, which prevented unjustified expenditures amounting to 225 million tenge.
Following the prosecutor's protests, these procurements have been cancelled. Measures are being taken to bring officials who committed the violations to justice in accordance with the procedure established by law.
