Police in the Pavlodar region have stopped 35 violations of environmental legislation during the operational-preventive operation "Poacher".

According to Polisia.kz, tools of the offences were seized from local residents who were engaged in illegal hunting and logging. The offenders' vehicles were impounded and taken to the municipal car park.

At the same time, law enforcement officers discovered that on the floodplain of the Irtysh River in the Irtysh District, a villager was fishing with a Chinese-made monofilament net, which is a prohibited piece of gear.

In another case, a resident of the village of Lozovoye in the Uspenka District was consuming alcoholic beverages on the lake, thereby violating fishing regulations.
_______________
For reference: in accordance with paragraph 5 of Article 39 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On the Protection, Reproduction and Use of Wildlife", fishing is not permitted while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or other types of intoxication.

As a result, a court decision imposed a fine of 10 MCI (39,320 tenge) on each of the aforementioned citizens. The department reminded that violating fishing regulations carries a fine of 10 to 100 MCI (393,200 tenge). For a repeat violation within a year, the fine will be 20 to 150 MCI (from 78,640 tenge to 589,800 tenge).

Incidentally, in early December 2024, local residents in the Pavlodar region were already penalised for drinking alcohol while fishing.

For example, as part of the "Muz" campaign, rescue workers and police conducted a raid during which several fishermen were issued fines for lacking the necessary equipment and for consuming alcoholic beverages on the ice.
