According to the Almaty City Police Department (DP), a call was received on the "102" hotline from the Turksib district. The man was fishing on the lake when he felt the hook catch on something heavy.
Instead of a fish, he pulled a bag out of the water. Inside were cartridges. The fisherman reported the find to law enforcement officers.

An operational-investigative team from the Turksib district police department arrived at the scene. The ammunition found was seized.
Law enforcement officers ordered a ballistic examination. Specialists must establish the origin and ownership of the cartridges found.

CONTEXT
Earlier, residents of the North Kazakhstan region (NKR) came to fish on the Ishim in the suburbs of Petropavlovsk, but ended up in an area where shooting practice was taking place. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
After the incident, the fishermen wondered why the dangerous area had not been cordoned off and whether there were enough warning signs if people could get in there.
