Unlawfully withdrawn assets worth 1.3 trillion tenge were returned to the state by prosecutors over two years

This year, law enforcement officers prevented the illegal involvement of more than 3,000 people in criminal proceedings. The number of instances of torture has decreased several times over. This was reported at a board meeting reviewing the work of the prosecution authorities by the Prosecutor General Berik Asylov

According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, the number of suicides in penal institutions fell by 27%. The employment rate of convicts increased by 15%.

The department also announced the launch of an algorithm to block criminal proceeds obtained from the illicit drug trade. It emerged that prosecutors had secured the freezing of more than 195,000 "dropper" accounts totalling 2.6 billion tenge. In the course of investigations, assets worth over 9 billion tenge belonging to suspects were seized.

Overall, over two years, as part of efforts to return illegally expropriated assets, funds and property worth a total of 1 trillion 36 billion tenge were returned to the state. Using these funds, 434 social facilities were built in all regions of the country.

To date, construction has been completed on more than 150 facilities, including 99 medical institutions, 48 water supply facilities, and two sports and two educational facilities.

Furthermore, agreements have been signed with oligopoly entities to implement investment and social projects totalling 5.2 trillion tenge.

As previously reported, a major sports and cultural complex is being completed in Kokshetau, financed by the Special State Fund, into which assets returned to the state are deposited. 12.6 billion tenge was allocated for the project.
