The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has identified excess expenditure totalling 30 billion tenge under the national project "Comfortable School".

According to Kazinform MIA, Deputy Chairman of the FMA Kairat Bizhanov reported that the total volume of prevented unjustified costs across all construction projects amounted to 242.4 billion tenge. This figure is six times higher than last year's data (40.5 billion tenge).

As Bizhanov noted, this result was made possible thanks to the introduction of the information system "AQIQAT", developed by the FMA to analyse design and estimate documentation and identify inflated costs of construction materials.

The system is integrated with databases of domestic manufacturers, price directories, and materials from KazNIISA (Kazakh Scientific Research and Design Institute of Construction and Architecture).

"You simply upload the design and estimate documentation into the system, and the built-in module with elements of artificial intelligence automatically digitises the data, compares it with the database of Kazakh manufacturers, and identifies overpricing," said the statement.

Bizhanov noted that the FMA is ready to provide access to the system to all administrators of budget programmes. It is expected that this will significantly expand the scope and improve the effectiveness of control over pricing and the use of budgetary funds.

Earlier, the Stepnogorsk prosecutor's office identified violations in 9 public procurements totalling 710 million tenge, organised by the city akimat.

The violations consisted of overpricing goods, works and services, including unnecessary volumes of work, as well as setting requirements for participants that did not comply with the legislation.
