The Ekibastuz Prosecutor's Office stopped the unjustified use of budget funds totalling 160 million tenge.
According to the press service of the department, during the monitoring of public procurement, the supervisory authority found that the city akimat had placed a lot for the purchase of an industrial base worth 160 million tenge. However, the approved budget had allocated only 150 million tenge for these purposes.
Following the review of the prosecutor's response act, changes were made to the public procurement plan — the purchase was cancelled.
The responsible officials were held accountable for violating the provisions of the Law 'On Public Procurement'.
Recall that earlier in Kokshetau, the illegal expenditure of state funds totalling 78 million tenge was prevented. A local school had planned to carry out roof repairs using budget funds.
