In the Kokpektinsky district of the Abai region, plans are underway to implement two major investment projects: the expansion of a dairy farm and the construction of a gold mining plant. This was announced by the district governor Adilet Kozhanbayev during a briefing at the Regional Communications Service.
According to the speaker, in 2024 the district showed significant growth in socio-economic development indicators. Compared to the previous year, the construction industry grew by 202.3%, retail trade turnover by 111.7%, agriculture by 111.3%, and investments by 113.6%.
More than 13,000 people live in the district. It was reported that in 2024, housing was provided to 50 families in six villages. It is noted that under the concept for the development of housing and communal infrastructure until 2026, 842 million tenge was allocated for housing construction in the Kokpektinsky district.
Under the "Aul – el besigi" programme, the district received 442.8 million tenge from the regional budget. These funds were used to repair 13 housing and communal services facilities, 2 intra-village roads, and implement 11 projects for street lighting in 12 villages.
Furthermore, according to the governor, two investment projects with a total value of 2.2 billion tenge are being implemented in Kokpekty. One of them is the expansion of the dairy farm by 1,000 head of cattle, and the second is the construction of a gold mining plant.
The expansion of the dairy farm is estimated at 1.1 billion tenge. It was reported that 349 breeding Simmental cows and 20 units of machinery and equipment were purchased from Germany for the development of the farm. The planned volume of milk production is up to 30 tonnes per day (15,000 tonnes per year).
As for gold mining, it was reported that ore will come from the "Rodnikovoye" and "Belaya Gorka" deposits. It is noted that currently confirmed minimum reserves are sufficient to operate the plant for 8-10 years.
Thus, the Kokpektinsky district is demonstrating active development in all spheres of the economy. The implementation of new investment projects, infrastructure development, and housing construction contribute to improving the quality of life for the population and strengthening the economic potential of the region.
