By order of the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, 5.6 billion tenge has been allocated from the Special State Fund for healthcare projects in the Abai region. These funds are intended to strengthen the material and technical base of medical organisations and improve the quality of medical care provided to the population.

According to the press service of the government, in the village of Urzhar, an additional wing of the multi-purpose central district hospital is being built using returned assets. It is planned to be equipped with modern medical equipment, which will increase the facility's capacity and improve the availability of medical services for local residents.

In the town of Ayagoz, construction is also underway on an additional wing of the central district hospital. The new building will house an MRI scanner, enabling diagnostic tests to be carried out on site without the need to send patients to other regions.

Construction is expected to be completed and the facilities brought into operation by the end of this year.

Separately, 2.6 billion tenge was previously allocated from the fund for the construction of a psychoneurological medical and social institution with 100 beds in Semey.

It will be recalled that Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov announced that this year, projects to achieve 100% provision of drinking water to the population are planned to be completed. For this, 147 billion tenge has been allocated from the republican budget, with an additional over 160 billion tenge coming from the Special State Fund.
