A verdict has been handed down in the Interdistrict Criminal Court of Shymkent for the chief accountant of secondary school №126 "Aynatas".
According to the press service of the department, while calculating salaries, he unlawfully transferred 2.6 million tenge to his personal account.
The defendant fully admitted his guilt, compensated for the damage caused, and asked the court to impose a sentence not involving imprisonment.
Ultimately, the court found the chief accountant guilty and sentenced him to 2 years' imprisonment, with a lifelong ban from holding positions in the civil service and state institutions.
For context, in January it was reported that Antikor Almaty together with the Almaty branch of the republican public association "Adildik Zholy" had identified financial violations in comprehensive secondary school №141. The accountant of that school is suspected of embezzling budget funds from 2019 to 2023 and causing damage to the state totalling 57 million 773 thousand tenge.
In February, it became known that Antikor of the Almaty region was conducting a pre-trial investigation into the head of the State Institution "Education Department of Iliysky District, Almaty Region". She is suspected of embezzling 680 million tenge. The investigation believes she paid salaries to individuals who did not work in secondary schools in Iliysky District.
In September, in the Akmola region, an accountant from the education department of Tselinograd district was convicted for embezzling 5.8 million tenge.
In October, a verdict was handed down in Shymkent for the chief accountant of comprehensive secondary school №96 named after M. Auezov, who monthly illegally transferred budget funds to her personal account. In total, she managed to acquire 5.1 million tenge.
