The Prosecutor's Office of Zhanaozen has uncovered the embezzlement of budget funds by an accountant at two state-run kindergartens.
According to the press service of the department, the accountant illegally transferred 30 million tenge into her personal account.
"A criminal case has been registered by the city prosecutor's office regarding this fact. The accountant was found guilty under paragraph 2) of part 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and by the verdict of the Zhanaozen city court dated 15 March 2024, she was sentenced to 6 years' imprisonment, suspended", the statement reads.
It is reported that the accused has fully compensated the damage of 30 million tenge.
Recall that earlier it became known that in Pavlodar, the director of a nursery-kindergarten, in collusion with an accountant, committed embezzlement totalling almost 63 million tenge. The court found them guilty and sentenced them to 7 years' imprisonment.
Furthermore, it was reported that the Anti-Corruption Service of the Almaty region is conducting a pre-trial investigation against the head of the State Institution "Education Department of the Ili District of the Almaty Region".
She is suspected of embezzling 680 million tenge. The investigation believes that she paid salaries to fictitious employees who do not actually work in the secondary schools of the Ili District.
