In the Zhambyl region, officers of the National Security Committee detained the senior detective of the Baizak district police department, Major Zhasulan Yelubai. He is suspected of receiving 700 thousand tenge in exchange for a promise to drop a criminal case regarding the theft of livestock.
According to the Telegram channel ‘HALYQSTAN’, the case involves the theft of donkeys by a resident of the Talas district. The claimant alleged that he had stolen them in the Baizak district.
It is reported that the initial amount demanded for dropping the criminal case was 1.5 million tenge, but the parties agreed on 700 thousand tenge. The police officer was caught red-handed while receiving the money.
It will be recalled that in February, in the Zhambyl region, a senior police officer was detained — the deputy head of the Baizak district police department. He is suspected of deliberately concealing a serious crime: the theft of 10.7 million tenge.
