The Supreme Audit Chamber (SAC) has identified violations in the use of state funds by one of the subsidiary organisations of the Pavlodar region akimat.
According to the SAC press service, during an audit of the Treasury Committee of the Ministry of Finance, it was established that one of the region's quasi-state companies has had unused funds in excess of 2.1 billion tenge sitting in an account for more than three years.
In connection with this, the Pavlodar region akimat has been instructed to take measures regarding the further use of the funds.
As a result, on 18 March, over 2 billion tenge was transferred to Kazakhtelecom JSC under a previously concluded contract.
"An additional decision is being made regarding the use of the remaining balance of more than 114 million tenge. This matter remains under the oversight of the Supreme Audit Chamber, as does the implementation of other instructions stemming from the state audit," the statement said.
It will be recalled that earlier, the SAC identified wasteful spending of budget funds during the modernisation of heat and water supply and wastewater systems. Following the agency's directive, 84.4 million tenge was saved and additional unjustified expenses were prevented.
