Employees of departments of the Pavlodar city akimat and the Pavlodar district akimat apparatus embezzled more than 89 million tenge from the budget. From August 2022 to September 2023, they received illegal payments for the work of personal assistants for disabled people.
According to the press service of the Pavlodar courts, five akimat employees ended up in the dock. They were charged with fraud on an especially large scale.
"The court took into account: full admission of guilt and sincere repentance; voluntary compensation for damage in the case; the presence of young children for A.G., A.A., Zh.A., B.A.; M.A.'s surrender; active assistance in solving the criminal offence; positive references from their place of residence", the statement reads.
As a result, the court sentenced the convicted individuals to restrictions on freedom ranging from 3.5 to 5.5 years.
"Probation control, assignment to compulsory labour, and the imposition of duties have been established for the convicted for the entire duration of the sentence. The convicted are also permanently banned from holding positions in the civil service. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force", the court ruling stated.
