The Pavlodar Prosecutor's Office conducted an inspection of compliance with the law on public procurement during the construction of water supply networks.

According to the press service of the department, Ay-Su Melioratsiya LLP inflated the cost of supplied equipment. In addition, prosecutors identified a discrepancy between construction and installation works and the certificates of completed works amounting to 79 million tenge.

In turn, the Pavlodar Construction Department filed a lawsuit against the LLP to have it recognised as an unfair participant in public procurement and to recover the specified amount, but local courts refused to satisfy the claim.

Upon the petition of the regional prosecutor's office, the Supreme Court issued a ruling to recover 79 million tenge from the LLP and to recognise it as an unfair participant in public procurement.

Recall that in October in Kyzylorda, the first deputy director of the main gas pipeline management department of Intergas Central Asia JSC, N. Nurbolatuly, was convicted. He was found guilty of causing damage to Orda Glass Ltd LLP in the amount of 60.1 million tenge. It was reported that Nurbolatuly inflated the estimated cost and signed fictitious certificates of completed works.

In early December, the Financial Monitoring Department for Shymkent completed a pre-trial investigation against officials of the region and Kuatzhyluortalyk-3 SCE regarding the embezzlement of 1.1 billion tenge of budget funds allocated for the repair of the city's heat networks and power lines. The suspects inflated the estimated cost and payment for work that was not actually carried out.

In the same period, the Anti-Corruption Service identified an unjustified inflation of the cost of work during the construction and repair of highways in the Kostanay region. The Akimats included unforeseen expenses in the repair estimate amounting to 2% of the project sum, whereas such costs are not provided for by law. As a result, the cost of road repairs increased by 840 million tenge.
