In court No. 2 in Aktobe, a sentence was handed down to the acting head of the regional department for sanitary and epidemiological control, Shagalbayev B., and his deputy, Doszhanov N.
According to the press service of the Anti-Corruption Agency, on 28 January, the officials conspired to receive a bribe of 1 million tenge from an entrepreneur in exchange for issuing a licence to provide disinfection, disinsection, and deratisation services.
The court found the officials guilty of accepting a bribe, and the entrepreneur guilty of giving one. They were sentenced to fines ranging from 20 to 35 million tenge. In addition, they were permanently banned from holding positions in the civil service and local government bodies.
It will be recalled that earlier, the court in Aktobe heard a criminal case against two former heads of children's and youth sports schools (CYSS), who were found guilty of embezzling funds from the illegal rental of a sports facility.
