Nurlan Nogayev has been removed from his position as akim of the Mangystau Region.

It will be recalled that Nurlan Nogayev was appointed Akim of the Mangystau Region by Presidential Decree on 7 September 2021. He worked as the head of the westernmost region of Kazakhstan until today.

"By decree of the Head of State, Nurlan Askarovich Nogayev has been relieved of his post as Akim of the Mangystau Region", the press service of Akorda reported.

In 2006, Nogayev held the position of Executive Director of JSC NC KazMunayGas. That same year, he moved to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as Director of the Department of the Oil Industry

In 2007, he was appointed Deputy Akim of the West Kazakhstan Region (WKR). In 2012, he became Akim of the WKR. From 2016 to 2019, he was Akim of the Atyrau Region. Then, from 2019 to 2021, he held the post of Minister of Energy

It was also reported that today Kassym-Jomart Tokayev appointed a First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. He is Akan Rakhmetullin. Previously, he held the position of Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the UN. 

Now, Kairat Umarov will take his place at the representative office. Since October 2022, he had been First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 

Furthermore, the President appointed a Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the International Civil Aviation Organisation. He is Timur Tlegenov - previously Deputy Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee. 

In addition, Tokayev replaced the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the World Trade Organisation. Previously, Zhanar Aitzhan held this post. Now, Asset Irgaliyev, who had been an Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Economic Affairs since 2023, has been appointed to this position.
