Azat Nugmanov has left his post as head of Aulie-Ata International Airport JSC in Taraz.
This was reported by the Telegram channel “Berkut 001”. The former airport director previously gained notoriety after a criminal case against fraudsters who deceived people by offering them high-ranking positions.
For example, according to “Diapazon”, in 2022 the criminals offered Azat Nugmanov the position of akim of Aktobe for $500,000. In turn, Nugmanov gave them $250,000.
It is reported that when he learned of the arrest of the fraudsters to whom he had given the money, he immediately contacted the police and was given the status of a victim.
Then, in July 2023, he was appointed chairman of the board of Alia Moldagulova International Airport JSC in Aktobe. In September he left that position, and a month later he got a new job, heading Aulie-Ata International Airport JSC in Taraz.
At the time, many questioned how Nugmanov was allowed to manage an airport when he had so recently been involved in a corruption scandal.
However, as we can see, he did not stay long in his new post, serving as head of the Taraz airport for only six months.
