The former Minister of Digitalisation Bagdat Musin has been appointed Chairman of the Board of JSC Kazakhtelecom.
It was previously announced that Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev, who had headed JSC Kazakhtelecom since 2010, has left his post. He has been appointed as Advisor to the President.
For context, Bagdat Musin served as Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan from September 2020 to April 2024.
In April, it was reported that Bagdat Musin had been sent into resignation, but Musin himself stated on social media that he left of his own accord.
The government did not disclose the reasons for relieving Musin of his ministerial post. The media put forward various speculations, including that criminal cases had been opened against the former minister.
Not long ago, while in the United States with his family, Bagdat Musin spoke about his plans in the field of competitive programming.
