According to the press service of the Mangystau regional prosecutor's office, department staff conducted inspections of oil and gas sector enterprises and uncovered violations in the activities of Oil Transport Corporation LLP.
During the investigation, three individuals were detained, including managers of the enterprise and the contractor organisation. The court found them guilty and sentenced them to various penalties.
The deputy general director of the enterprise was convicted of abuse of official powers resulting in serious consequences. The court imposed a sentence of 3 years' restriction of liberty.
The two representatives of the contractor organisation each received 2 years' restriction of liberty. At the same time, the convicted parties compensated more than 250 million tenge. The verdict has entered into legal force.
As it became known, Oil Transport Corporation LLP is a subsidiary of KazMunayGas National Company JSC (KMG). The company provides all types of transport services to Mangystaumunaigas JSC and other KMG subsidiaries at the Kalamkas and Zhetybai fields.
It should be recalled that earlier, the department of the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) of Shymkent shut down the activities of the Kazmunaigaz Invest financial pyramid, which posed as an investment division of KMG.
The suspects promised quick and high returns from purchasing KMG shares and a profit of 50% every 15 days. In reality, securities were not purchased, and payments were made using funds from new participants.
