The National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NSC) has confirmed that a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the first deputy governor of the East Kazakhstan Region (EKR) Zhaksylyk Omar. The information emerged amid reports online about his alleged detention.
