In pre-school institutions in the Mugalzhar district of the Aktobe region, instances of embezzlement of budget funds amounting to over 54 million tenge were identified.

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor's office, accountants at the kindergartens “Balausa”, “Gulder”, “Shapagat” and “Arai” signed bank documents on behalf of the directors and transferred money to their own accounts.

“In relation to all of the above facts, the district prosecutor's office has initiated a pre-trial investigation against the accountants under parts 2 and 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (embezzlement or misappropriation of entrusted another's property)”, the statement reads.

In connection with compensation for damages exceeding 5 million tenge, criminal cases against the accountants of the kindergartens “Shapagat” and “Arai” were terminated. The accountants of the kindergartens “Balausa” and “Gulder” were sentenced by the court to 7 years' imprisonment for embezzling 49 million tenge.

Recall that in October, a sentence was passed in Shymkent against the chief accountant of secondary school No. 96 named after M. Auezov, who each month illegally transferred budget funds to a personal account. She managed to embezzle 5.1 million tenge.

In mid-November, it was reported that the Anti-Corruption Service of the East Kazakhstan Region is investigating a criminal case against two accountants of the regional specialised boarding school-gymnasium named after Zh. Zhabayev, who are suspected of embezzling 120 million tenge.

At the same time, in the Mugalzhar district of the Aktobe region, they convicted the accountant of two kindergartens, Gulnara Kurmanbayeva. She was accused of embezzling 60 million tenge.
