The Zhaksy District Court of the Akmola Region has examined a criminal case against a kindergarten accountant. She was accused of embezzling budget funds by abusing her official position.
According to the press service of the department, between 2021 and 2023, the accountant illegally transferred 9 million tenge to her own bank accounts and those of her daughter. At the same time, using the head teacher's digital signature, she transferred a salary of 2.4 million tenge to herself.
In addition, the woman forged payment orders, entering her own bank account and individual identification number in the details. It is reported that she transferred 5.8 million tenge from the kindergarten's account to herself, 692,000 tenge to her daughter, and also paid for cosmetic services worth 137,000 tenge.
Furthermore, when submitting tax reports, the accountant only filled in details for a few employees, resulting in an incomplete payment of tax. This created a corporate tax debt of 6.6 million tenge.
Ultimately, the court, applying the Law "On Amnesty in Connection with the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan", sentenced the woman to 2 years, 9 months, and 18 days' imprisonment, with a ban on working in the field of accounting. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
Incidentally, the trial was conducted as a show trial, attended by the head and accountants of the district education department.
For context, in April, the prosecutor's office of the Korday District in the Zhambyl Region identified a case of embezzlement of 45.2 million tenge intended to fund a state kindergarten. Over the course of two years, the management of the preschool institution illegally received budget funds for children who did not attend it.
