The Altynalmas AK JSC has confirmed the death of maintenance and repair fitter Nurdaulet Nurkhanov, who was buried by rock. The search lasted 5 days.
"Altynalmas AK JSC expresses its deep and sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues who knew and worked with Nurdaulet Zheksenovich", the company's press service wrote.
At the same time, the company reported that a working group was established immediately after the incident to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.
Altynalmas has promised to provide financial assistance to the family of the deceased and to fulfil all obligations regarding the due payments.
It is worth recalling that on 18 September, in the Zhambyl region, at one of the mining and processing complexes of Altynalmas AK JSC, a worker was buried by rock.
It was reported that access to the collapse zone was difficult due to the movement of rock and complex geographical conditions.
In October of last year, it became known that at the Altynalmas company's gold mines, located near Stepnogorsk, 4,295 people had been brought to administrative responsibility over a period of 5 years for illegal entry into the mines.
In addition, in 2023, 3 illegal prospectors died in the mines.
