The Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of Uralsk has commented on the situation regarding the adjustment of the master plan, which caused a public outcry. Earlier, local residents discovered data in it that did not relate to the city.
According to Vlast.kz, the department reported that the reason was a 'technical discrepancy during the uploading of materials'. The department noted that the error had already been corrected, and the updated version of the document with accurate data and graphic materials had been re-posted for public access.
'The work to adjust the Master Plan has been completed in full and within the established deadlines,' the statement reads.
At the same time, the architecture department clarified that, following an internal investigation, the responsible employee had been given a disciplinary sanction in the form of a reprimand.
Recall that the public outcry arose after activist Danil Makatukha discovered descriptions of other cities in the explanatory note to the master plan. The section on 'Urban lands and their use' described Karaganda, and the list of architectural monuments completely matched that of the city of Semey. It was noted that the design company received 250 million tenge for this master plan.
