The Prosecutor's Office of the Almaly District has ensured the return of 100% of the shares of JSC «Baspalar uyi» («Publishing House») to state ownership.
For reference: JSC «Baspalar uyi» is a joint-stock company that publishes books and printed materials in Almaty, located in the Almaly District at 143 Abay Avenue.
According to the department's press service, in 2016, shares worth 2.6 billion tenge, which previously belonged to the Ministry of Culture and Sports, were illegally privatised by a private individual at an undervalued price.
To protect the state's property interests, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit to invalidate the transaction.
As a result, the appellate instance upheld the decision of the court of first instance to satisfy the prosecutor's office's claims.
As reported by Kursiv.media, in 2016, the buyer of 100% of the shares of the company was entrepreneur Yerbol Nazarov. It is noted that he purchased them 48.7 times cheaper than the valuation by state bodies. Thus, he acquired the publishing house for 53.4 million tenge. In the same year, he sold 25% of the shares of the company to certain Zhanar Rakhmetova and Mairash Myrzabekova. The value of the transactions was not disclosed.
Recall that earlier in Shymkent, water supply and sanitation facilities were returned to the state. Since 2004, they had been managed by LLP «Water Resources – Marketing», in which the state's share was only 22%.
