Employees of the DUI of the EKR were convicted of embezzling 5.8 million tenge

In Ust-Kamenogorsk, employees of the Department of the Criminal Executive System (DCES) of the East Kazakhstan Region have been convicted.

According to the press service of Anticor, the former deputy head of institution No. 17 and a senior inspector were found guilty of embezzling 5.8 million tenge.

It is reported that they provided the housing commission with knowingly false information about the absence of property. 

The court sentenced them to restriction of liberty for a term of 3 years and 6 months, with a lifelong ban on holding positions in the civil service and the quasi-public sector. The convicted individuals were also stripped of the ranks of major and lieutenant of justice.

Recall that in mid-October in Karaganda, a sentence was handed down to a senior operational officer of the Department of the Criminal Executive System (DCES) of the Karaganda Region and the Ulytau Region for torturing a convicted person.

In August, in the Ulytau Region, military personnel and employees of the Committee of the Criminal Executive System (CCES) were convicted for using torture. The head of the institution and his deputy were each sentenced to 6.6 years' imprisonment. Five institution employees and four military personnel received sentences of from 4 to 4.5 years' imprisonment.

In July, it became known that the court No. 2 of Ust-Kamenogorsk had passed a sentence on the deputy head of the DCES for the East Kazakhstan Region, Ziyanov K.A. He was found guilty of abuse of official power. It is reported that he facilitated the creation of favourable and privileged conditions for serving the sentence of a convicted person – the former head of LLP «Operator ROP» Kumargaliyev M.
