According to the press service of the human rights ombudsman, an elderly man from the Akmola Region requested assistance with reconnecting his electricity.
It is reported that the veteran of labour, a Group II disabled person lives alone.
At the end of June, upon returning home, he encountered employees of the local power grid who were disconnecting the electricity in his flat. The pensioner asked them not to cut the power, but his request was ignored.
As it became known, the applicant has a debt in the amount of 1,690 tenge.
"After all the circumstances were clarified, the pensioner, accompanied by a representative, went to the power plant and paid the debt. The electricity for the applicant has now been reconnected without any penalty charges," the statement reads.
At the same time, it is not reported how long the pensioner had not paid his electricity bills, or whether the local service provider had sent any warnings about a possible disconnection.
Recall that in May of this year, law enforcement officers detained 28 members of a criminal group, which included lawyers, advocates and notaries. Through threats and the use of violence, the wrongdoers illegally re-registered property, including flats belonging to pensioners, disabled people and individuals with alcohol and drug addictions.
