The organised crime unit of the Karaganda region police department has suppressed the illegal activities of a group of so-called "black realtors".
As reported by Polisia.kz, in May of this year 28 members of the criminal group were detained, which included lawyers, barristers and a notary. Through threats and the use of violence, the offenders illegally re-registered property, including flats belonging to pensioners, disabled people, and individuals with alcohol and drug addictions.
In total, the organised criminal group re-registered 14 flats in this manner. It is noted that one of the active members of the criminal group is a follower of a destructive religious movement.
"On 13 May, during search operations, documents for various real estate properties and personal data of individuals were seized. <…> The investigation is being conducted into fraud on an exceptionally large scale," said the official representative of the organised crime department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Kuandyk Alpys.
