Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov at a meeting of the Commission on the Return of Illegally Acquired Assets to the State heard a report on the work being carried out by the company for the management of returned assets (CMRA), and also reviewed the results of the implementation of previous decisions.

According to the press service of the government, assets worth approximately 610 billion tenge have been returned to the state, of which 506 billion tenge is in cash, along with property valued at over 103 billion tenge.

It has been reported that funds from the Special State Fund have been allocated for the implementation of 280 social facilities in the areas of education, healthcare, sport, and social security, as well as for the modernisation of communal infrastructure.

"Following the latest meeting, the Commission approved the conclusion of a number of agreements on the voluntary return of illegally acquired assets to the state," the statement reads.

At the same time, it is planned to send an additional approximately 150 billion tenge to the Special State Fund. In addition, authorised bodies have undertaken obligations to invest $10.5 billion in the country's economy.

"The Commission supported filing lawsuits in court against persons subject to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan 'On the Return of Illegally Acquired Assets to the State', concerning the forfeiture of assets totalling more than 84 billion tenge to state revenue", the government reported.

It is worth recalling that earlier it was reported that from 2022 to 2024, assets worth around 1 trillion tenge were returned to the state. More than 220 billion tenge of this was directed to the Special State Fund, and the remainder was transferred to the company for the management of returned assets, which has full state participation in its authorised capital.
