The special state fund has been topped up by more than 177 billion tenge as part of asset recovery efforts, reported the Asset Recovery Committee of the Prosecutor General's Office.
"As a result of agreements concluded with registry subjects, around 147 billion tenge has been received; from procedural agreements, 19 billion tenge; from the sale of assets, over 6 billion tenge; by court decisions, around 5 billion tenge; and from leasing property, more than 165 million tenge", said the press service of the department.
Among the sold assets are two villas, an administrative building, a residential house, a flat, a plot of land, and two luxury cars.
"One example of successful asset realisation is a land plot in the city of Almaty, which was received from a subject of the Law 'On the Return of Illegally Acquired Assets to the State' at a price of 176 million tenge, and was sold for 657 million tenge, almost four times its initial appraised value", the statement said.
Meanwhile, an additional top-up of the fund by more than 150 billion tenge is expected as part of the asset recovery work. It is noted that all returned funds will be used to implement the country's social and economic projects.
Recall that in September, it was reported that three assets belonging to former Minister of Culture and Sports Arystanbek Mukhamediuly are planned to be returned to state ownership. Their total value is 3.5 billion tenge.
In August, it became known that the total amount of assets returned in criminal cases concerning Kairat Satybaldy amounts to 732.8 billion tenge.
