At the meeting of the Commission on the Return of Illegally Acquired Assets to the State, the voluntary return of assets totalling over 40 billion tenge was approved.

According to the press service of the government, more than 38 billion of this sum consists of cash. The remaining 2 billion tenge is the value of a business centre in Astana. The returned funds will be directed towards social purposes, including eliminating the consequences of the floods.

At the same time, it became known that investment agreements worth 7 billion tenge had been signed. Under the terms of the agreements, individuals subject to the Law "On the Return of Illegally Acquired Assets to the State" commit to building two infrastructure facilities in Astana and Shymkent. These projects, among other things, will create jobs and ensure an additional influx of tax revenues.

Recall that earlier it became known that the Anti-Corruption Service plans to return another 50 billion tenge to the state in the case of the former president Nazarbayev's nephew – Kairat Satybaldy.

It was previously reported that the Anti-Corruption Service had secured the return to the state of property assets and cash belonging to Satybaldy and related persons totalling more than 732 billion tenge.
