The accountant of a nursery school from 2021 to 2023 inflated her own salary - as a result, over three years she transferred more than 15 million tenge to her bank account.
According to the press service of the Supreme Court, the defendant explained that she committed the crime in order to pay off debts.
The court recognised sincere remorse, full compensation for the damage caused, and the presence of three minor children dependent on her as mitigating circumstances. The court sentenced the defendant to a suspended sentence.
"The defendant was found guilty under paragraph 2) of part 4 of Article 189 of the Criminal Code, and was sentenced to 7 years' imprisonment and a 10-year ban from holding positions related to the management of material assets in state and commercial organisations. Based on Article 63 of the Criminal Code, the imposed sentence is considered suspended with the establishment of probationary supervision", the verdict stated.
Recall that in June it was reported that in the East Kazakhstan region, the accountant of the kindergarten "Katusha" had been overpaying herself for three years. In total, she transferred more than 12 million tenge to her accounts.
In May, the Zhanaozen prosecutor's office uncovered the embezzlement of budget funds by an accountant of two state kindergartens. She transferred 30 million tenge to her account.
In March it became known that in Pavlodar, the director of a nursery school, in collusion with the accountant, embezzled nearly 63 million tenge. The court found them guilty and sentenced them to 7 years' imprisonment.
