The FBK editorial office has received reports from residents of the Aktobe region concerned about the condition of the Ilek River. According to them, new quarries for the extraction of sand and sand-and-gravel mixtures are actively appearing along the floodplain. From the beginning of 2026, the National Security Committee (KNB) has registered 126 criminal offences, 110 of which are linked to corruption. Investigations have been completed into 129 cases, with 121 sent to court. In the concluded cases, damage amounting to 18 billion tenge has been established, of which over 100 million tenge has been reimbursed to the budget.
