The Ministry of Ecology of Kazakhstan has completed the development of a roadmap for regulating the saiga population and is preparing to submit proposals to the government on "transitioning to the sustainable use" of these animals.

In the IT school-lyceum of Kosshy, Akmola Region, mathematics and history teachers got into a fight right within the walls of the educational institution. The incident took place back in April, but the parties involved in the conflict only recently contacted the police.

In April, the FBRK editorial team sent three requests to the Department of Land Management of the Akmola Region regarding violations at the Astana Reservoir and the Ishim River. A month and a half later, the department sent three identical replies — one substantive, two duplicating it, without taking the different circumstances into account. We examine how the environmental control system in Kazakhstan operates and why citizens' appeals are reduced to a mere formality.
