In Shymkent, police have shut down an underground drug lab. Two men who organised the production of synthetic drugs have been detained. Seized were 4.5 kg of mephedrone (roughly 8,000 doses), over a tonne of precursors, and equipment. The investigation is ongoing, and the suspects have been arrested.

The court hearings were repeatedly postponed from mid-November.

Four polyclinics in Shymkent are planned to be transferred to private operators under a trust management arrangement.
