The Financial Monitoring Agency, together with the General Prosecutor’s Office and specialists from Tele2, has shut down the activities of a group suspected of mass phishing SMS campaigns using an SMS blaster. The device mimicked mobile base stations and allowed the group to bypass operators’ security, directing users to fake websites to collect personal and banking details. Four suspects have been detained, and the investigation is ongoing.

A court in the North Kazakhstan Region has found former colony settlement head Rustem Rakhmetov guilty of fraud and incitement to bribery. According to the investigation, he offered a convicted person assistance in getting a lighter sentence in exchange for money, without having the ability to influence the court's decision. A fire occurred in the building of the regional akimat in Aktobe

According to the investigation, in 2025 the suspect recruited citizens via an internet platform and messaging apps, promising income for watching videos. Participants' funds were converted into cryptocurrency and sent to anonymous wallets. The court authorised the seizure of assets worth approximately $1.06 million (1,057,599 USDT). The case has been referred to court.

The defendants were found guilty under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including fraud and money laundering. The main defendants received prison sentences ranging from 5 to 14 years, while some were given suspended sentences. Seized funds have been confiscated to the state revenue.
