The Taldykorgan City Prosecutor's Office established facts of violations of the labour rights of employees at the Taldykorgan City Multidisciplinary Hospital.
WHAT VIOLATIONS WERE FOUND
As reported by the prosecutor's office of the Zhetysu region, in some cases, medical workers were made to work after a 24-hour shift without the required rest between shifts. This contradicts the requirements of Article 83 of the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Duration of daily (between-shift) rest").
An exceedance of the permissible amount of overtime work was also found. In January 2026, some employees worked up to 216 hours of overtime.
Furthermore, payment for such work was made at a single rate instead of an increased rate — no less than one and a half times, as stipulated by Article 108 of the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Payment for overtime work").
RESPONSE MEASURES
The violations affected the rights of more than 700 employees. The city prosecutor's office submitted a representation. As a result of its review, the rights of the medical workers were restored, and the guilty officials were held accountable.
