Information is circulating online that the director of the Zhambyl Regional Multidisciplinary Centre for Oncology and Surgery, Aibaz Alikhanov, is being accused of accepting a bribe.

According to the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN», in 2023 he received 400,000 tenge from a female resident of Taraz in exchange for employing her as a nurse.

It is reported that the woman subsequently worked at the institution for over a year, but resigned due to a conflict with colleagues. She then approached the Anti-Corruption Agency and filed a statement against her former boss, deciding to get her money back.

It is noted that Alikhanov was caught red-handed in his office while returning 200,000 tenge to the former nurse.

“Alikhanov admitted his guilt, and the pre-trial investigation was carried out in an expedited format. The case under Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code (accepting a bribe) has been submitted for consideration to the Court No. 2 of Taraz,” the statement reads.

Recall that in August last year, the court in Atyrau announced the verdict for the management of City Polyclinic No. 4 and a businessman. They were accused of embezzling 231.8 million tenge through the fictitious provision of services.

Shortly before that, in Almaty, the verdict was announced regarding the accountants of a city polyclinic. They were accused of embezzling budget funds. The damage exceeded 341 million tenge.

In July, it was reported that the head of the Republican Scientific Centre for Dermatology, along with his deputy, was suspected of corruption. It involved the receipt of a bribe in the amount of 5 million tenge from the head of the International Institute of Postgraduate Education. The bribe was intended to secure a contract for providing services to improve the qualifications of medical workers.

Around the same time, a doctor from the capital's medical centre, Makishev, was convicted of accepting a bribe in the amount of 500,000 tenge. The medical centre doctor received the illegal payment from a female patient for performing a routine surgical operation.
