In Almaty, on the eve of the last school bell, the police stopped a motorcade involving graduates from one of the city's schools. Parents of underage participants were held accountable, and several cars were sent to the impound lot.
HOW THE MOTORCADE WAS DETECTED
According to the police department of the city of Almaty (Almaty PD), a group of graduates organised a convoy of cars moving through the city streets. The police had previously warned residents about the ban on such events, especially those involving minors.
During the inspection, parents of 21 underage participants were held accountable for failing to properly fulfil their duties regarding the upbringing of their children.
WHAT VIOLATIONS THE POLICE RECORDED
Police officers drew up 5 administrative reports regarding violations of vehicle operation rules. The violations were processed under the Administrative Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The cars that took part in the motorcade were placed in a specialised impound lot.
WHAT THE POLICE SAID
Head of the Administrative Police Department of the Almaty PD, Abdinur Tasybayev, reminded that the police had previously warned against the inadmissibility of holding motorcades involving graduates.
According to him, certain citizens ignored the requirements of the law. He also emphasised that a festive mood should not become a reason for violating public order and endangering the safety of others.
CONTEXT
The police reported that during the period of the last school bell and after the festive events, control over compliance with public order and traffic rules has been intensified.
Earlier, the Almaty PD had warned that during the last school bell period, so-called graduate 'motorcades' pose a particular danger. According to police data, teenagers often organise trips in convoys for photos and videos, thereby violating traffic rules and creating a threat to other road users.
The police also noted that in previous years during graduation events, there were cases where celebrations got out of control. Among the main risks, law enforcement officials cited dangerous car trips, underage participation in night-time outings, and other violations of public order.
