The National Security Committee has confirmed an investigation into the deputy head of Astana’s migration service.

The National Security Committee (NSC) has confirmed that a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the deputy head of the migration service department of the Astana police department, Aliya Makayeva. Additional details about the case were not disclosed by the committee, citing the requirements of the law.

WHAT THE NSC CONFIRMED

According to BES.media, the NSC responded to a request regarding information that had previously appeared online about the detention of Aliya Makayeva.

In its official response, the NSC stated that a pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the case. No further information is being disclosed in accordance with Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

WHAT INFORMATION APPEARED EARLIER

According to the Telegram channel «Kozachkov offside», Aliya Makayeva was detained by officers of the NSC and the internal security service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of an inspection of law enforcement bodies.

According to the source, Aliya Makayeva is suspected of participating in an organised criminal group (OCG) and organising illegal migration.

According to preliminary data, the suspects may have illegally issued residence permits to citizens of other countries.
